Just when is the best time to visit South Asia? Ultimately, it depends on your destinations and preferred activities. Scuba diving in Maldives, trekking in Nepal, or exploring temples in India will all have contrasting high seasons. Some travelers also favor visiting a destination when the weather may be less satisfactory, resulting in fewer tourists. Our Sodha Travel Destination Specialists will recommend travel times after learning more about your trip preferences.
A few months ago, I wrote about the Best of Hyderabad in conjunction with a project for AFAR. With a colorful history spanning over 400 years, Hyderabad showcases the best of North and South India. And now, National Geographic Traveler has also listed the "City of Pearls" as a Best Trip 2015! (Not surprisingly, India also made AFAR's list of Where to Go in 2015.)
I recently completed a project with AFAR on the best places to dine, play, and shop in Hyderabad. With a colorful history spanning over 400 years, Hyderabad showcases the best of North and South India. The "City of Pearls" was once a notable pearl and diamond trade center in South Asia and offers travelers the best of bazaars, bungalows, and biryani.

In the past few months, three incidents of rape and attempted rape in India have made international headlines and have unfortunately branded India as an unsafe destination for tourists. As appalling as the recent incidents have been, they are a gross misrepresentation of what most visitors experience - a very safe and friendly environment. India is a complex country with almost 1.3 billion people and even the most seasoned traveler can find the country to be a difficult place to navigate and integrate. This is why Sodha Travel partners with a destination management company with over 50 years of experience providing travelers with safe and enriching travel experiences.
