All Aboard the Tiger Express - Semi-Luxury Tourist Train in India

Allison Sodha

The Tiger Express is off to a "roaring" start! India's newest semi-luxury train offers 6 day/5 night packages from Delhi to Bandhavgarh and Kanha national parks. (Kanha is also included in Sodha Travel's popular Jungle Book itinerary.) Named for the most notable resident of the parks, Tiger Express is the first wildlife circuit collaboration between the Indian Railways and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

The Tiger Express departs from Delhi's Safdarjung railway station and travelers have the option of first or second A/C train accommodations. The packages also include 3* hotel accommodations in Bandhavgarh and Kanha, meals, touring, transfers, tiger safari's, and a visit to Dhuadhar Waterfall in Bedhaghat. This is the first semi-luxury train on India's tourist circuit to have a dining car, as well as a designated shower cubicle for its passengers.

Though service started on June 5th (World Environment Day), the national parks will soon be closed for summer season. Operations will resume in October 2016. Contact Sodha Travel to book your reservations on the Tiger Express, a convenient and exciting journey to the heart of Madhya Pradesh!
