Travelers, meet Aditya "Addy" Singh. I am VERY excited that Addy will be the tour director for my Heritage of North India Tour next September! Addy has been leading groups for over ten years and was also the escort for my own wedding program in 2007. He is one of Sodha Travel's most recommended group guides and always makes the tours interactive and engaging for our clients.

We recently asked Addy a few questions about his favorite destinations and life outside touring:

1. Addy, what is the best part of being a tour leader?

Although I have been doing this for a while now, I still feel the excitement of discovering and learning new things, meeting new people, sharing, discussing, and debating. At the end of the day I learn just as much as the guests!

2. What is your favorite destination on our Heritage of North India tour and why?

Udaipur can be described as a sublime blend of gods creation and that of man. It is a perfect destination that still retains the essence of India without being too commercialized. I also love Haridwar. Haridwar compares to Varanasi in its religious importance, but it is much cleaner and less congested. With its temples, ashrams, priests, pilgrims, colorful bazaars, and Sanskrit hymns from loud speakers constantly floating in the air, Haridwar encapsulates India's spiritualism. Also, the outskirts of Haridwar are surrounded by the natural beauty of the Himalayas.

3. You stay so busy leading groups in India, Nepal, Bhutan, and even Lebanon! What do you enjoy in your free time?

I am an amateur photographer and lead wildlife and photography tours. I enjoy bird watching, wildlife, trekking, camping, sports, and traveling, of course! I also own and manage a farm in Kota, Rajasthan.
