Travelers, the India visa process is changing once again for U.S. citizens! Following complaints against the current provider, all visa and passport related services will now be outsourced to Cox & King Global Service. This is effective from May 21, 2014.

BLS will close its operations with regard to passport, visa, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), and other support services on May 20th. In-person applications will end today, May 16th. Applicants who have already submitted applications can check their visa status online at BLS International until May 20th. On May 21st, all pending applications can be viewed at Cox and Kings Global Service.

The Indian diplomatic missions in the United States issued nearly 325,000 visas in 2013. The New York consulate led with 95,000 visas, followed by San Francisco (85,800), Houston (54,700), Chicago (45,000) and Washington DC (44,000).
