An Important India Visa Update

Allison Sodha

Attention, travelers! As of July 1, BLS International will be handling the Visa, OCI, PIO and Renunciation services for the Indian government in the United States. Travisa Outsourcing will ensure that passports affected by the transition will be accounted for during the handover. Visa services at the new BLS Atlanta office will initiate on July 18th.

The processing time is expected to remain the same: 3-5 business days for in-person applications and 7-9 business days for online facilitation. These processing times may be affected if the traveler was born outside the United States. Also, the cost for a 6-month tourist visa will be amended to $67.70.

Visas and other services will continue to be processed under an office of jurisdiction, based on the state of residence. Here is a list of BLS offices:

Washington, DC 220 Eye Street NE, Washington, DC 20002
New York 13 East 37th Street, New York, NY 10001
Chicago 55 West Van Buren, Chicago, IL 60607
