FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I have never been to India and have no idea where to start. What tour do you recommend?
Over 60% of American travelers visit India for the first time to see the famed Taj Mahal in Agra. Therefore, we recommend The Golden Experience. It is one of our most popular packages for first-time travelers because it provides a comprehensive tour of the Golden Triangle – Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
Why are your rates and accommodations not posted online? This is to benefit our clients. In our industry, rates and availability change on a daily basis. To assure that our clients receive the best possible accommodations at the lowest rates, we confirm pricing only after receiving specific information: travel dates, number of passengers, special requests, etc. If we posted our hotels and rates online, depending on when a tour is reserved, an upgraded hotel at a lower price could be available. By personalizing each quote, we offer the opportunity to upgrade hotel accommodations and lower costs for our clients.
What is the difference between standard and superior rates?
We respect the socioeconomic diversity of our clients. Many of our packages are available in two categories: Standard and Superior. In comparison, standard hotels offer 4-star accommodations while superior packages offer 5-star accommodations. All hotels have been carefully selected by Sodha Travel and offer premium services, regardless of class.
Do your packages include airfare?
We understand that our clients deserve options when it comes to air travel. Many want to use air miles, choose the airline and/or upgrade class of service. For this reason, our packages are available with and without airfare.
Is a visa required to visit India?
Yes. You must apply for a visa from Travisa Outsourcing prior to departure. Standard tourist visas are valid for 6 months and cost $73. For more information, please visit Travisa Outsourcing. Please note: The Indian Embassy and Consulates will continue to receive and process emergency applications only.
Are vaccinations mandatory?
Immunizations are not required to visit India. However, depending on the season and region of travel, certain vaccinations and/or medications are recommended. Depending on your itinerary, we will recommend preventative measures. For current information, please visit the Center for Disease Control.
Do you offer travel insurance?
Yes. We offer travel insurance through our partnership with Travel Insured, one of the leading international insurance companies. Please click on our Travel Insurance link for more information.
